@TRayB said: @Hobbes86, I apologize for my last sentence. I just wish the rules were more clear from the start, I wouldn't have posted in this thread. Good luck with the house sale.
No hard feelings here, and I wish I had thought to clarify more in the original post. Hopefully I'll do better in the future.

I apologize in advance, for sticking my nose where it doesn't belong... IMHO, the 'has to be on the good traders list' is an OK requirement. But, and there's always a but... I can't think of any forum-wide rules; it seems we don't have a lot of firm/fixed rules; we have some protocols and unwritten rules and unspoken things we agree on. Most of those are designed as a self-governing means of keeping the members from being taken advantage of by new/unproven members. I don't see @TRayB as such; he participates, posts, and he contributes well. If Todd has his own reasons for not wanting to trade (I assume they are valid reasons, but whatever they are, it's his choice) I don't see that it should necessarily preclude him from a contest.
If a member is starting a contest and they want to be inclusive, that person should have the prerogative to include everyone. Or, should it just be a formal forum rule? And if so, how would that be published so newbs can be made aware of it? We've had this come up more than once where a member had to be told they're not ready for a contest because of post counts. Maybe that should be the litmus test. I mean, the real reason for the unwritten rules about the good traders list and 50 post-count minimum is so we know someone's not just here to win stuff right?
Just some food for thought. Sorry, Ian... didn't mean to put you on the spot or hijack the thread.
Don't worry about it @peter4jc, your apology is accepted. The fault is really mine, I should have thought of including the "standard boilerplate" that everyone else uses. I've certainly seen it enough to know it. Maybe I was too excited about my contest idea to give the rules proper consideration. Anyway, water under the bridge now.

We accepted an offer today! It was a strong one and we are pretty pleased by it. We were actually getting ready to accept a weaker one when this one suddenly presented itself. God is good!
I haven't figured out the day count yet, but we are planning on closing on April 14th.

Is that @IndustMech? Congratulations, @Hobbes86!
The buyer signed their closing papers today and we have the proceeds firmly in hand. Therefore, this contest is now finished!

Trapped in the People's Communist Republic of Massachusetts.
@Hobbes86 as much as I would enjoy receiving a package of cigars, I must defer to someone else…..
In all fairness I believe the winner is @CommanderDuke1_
Well sh'it fire and save the matches! You are correct, Rusty! I knew I'd mess this up again before the end...
