A lot of times those sites will have a converter on them. Check the menus.

Is that top one shape 86? I think I have the same one. Like you, I'm a sucker for the smooth finish. Just mind-blowingly awesome to me. I've learned, though, that the rougher shapes stay cooler longer. Surface area allows for more heat dissipation.

The answer is just to slow down. I'm working on it.

It's a 142. 70-90s vintage supposedly. Not sure on the other one.

The 2nd one is an 86, that the one you were thinking of?

I bought the 2 stanwell estate pipes here. https://www.etsy.com/shop/mrstanwellpipes

Seems to be mostly Stanwells made in Denmark rather than the current manufacture in Italy. He gives very good, detailed descriptions for each pipe so you know exactly what you're getting. They come to you very clean and sterilized. I have a few more bookmarked in case I develop a case of PAS, though that's unlikely.

I think the move to Italy was fairly recent, so not surprised at the estates being primarily danish. I think about half my pipes are Stanwell, I like them.

    I think it was 2012

In the fall of 2009 we heard the announcement that the Stanwell pipe-factory in Borup, Denmark, would close its doors at the end of that year due to poor returns and financial losses. Indeed a sad message, especially as Stanwell was the only remaining pipe-factory in Scandinavia. However, it did not mean that the Stanwell-pipe was dead but the owner, Scandivaian Tobacco Group (STG), had decided to move the production to Italy. So beginning in 2010, all Stanwell pipes are made there.

It's a shame. Fortunately they are still being made well.
