Bands for Stands

I'm gonna start making a bunch of different stogie stands, all I'm doing is painting them and glue the band on.
But I'm gonna include them in my bombs.

If anyone has a nice band you would like to see on a stand, send them my way please.
Make sure they're in good condition.
And try to limit it too ones that would look good on a stand.

Even though the color matches the band I'm not sure I like the shade of red.

I tried a different brand of Krylon spray paint, this one was the fusion.
I'm going back to the other kind, it was smooth and glossy. This is almost textured looking.

Can anybody tell me why this happens? I sprayed both of them at the same time. The red one is smooth, but the black one did that.
Any thoughts?

too thick of a coat?

Google suggests it's bubbles of propellant from being too close.

Idk, they were both sitting side-by-side and I did them both in the same spraying.......

Were the black and red different paints? How long had they (the colors) set up before you shot the clear?

With clear, it's best to make light coats, letting them set before making the next coat.

But since it doesn't seem to be doing it on the label, only the paint, I suspect that it is the color paint reacting with the clear.

All krylon, paints and clear. I re sprayed clear on it from farther away and it hid alot of that.

That's really nice....I do have an air brus someone gave me, but I can't even draw at all...... maybe ill break it out here try some experimenting

Airbrush requires far more patience than I have. Templates or stencils help tons.
The thing about clear coat on tanks and such is to get a good gloss, it takes many coats, then lots of sanding and lots of buffing, but when it comes out good, it is worth it.

That tank was a wrecked tank we repaired and were experimenting with a new airbrush and water based airbrush paint.
