Getting old sucks

When I was younger, Detroit diesel heads were easy to throw around.
Last week, 175 lb heads let me know that I am getting old.

I tore up my shoulder installing the heads. The first lift to the top of the front tire went fine, the second lift from the tire onto the engine block, not so much.

So muscle relaxers, pain pills and anti-inflamatory meds and off til Tuesday.
So much fun.

    Getting worried though. 
    Year before last I found out I was no longer invincible. I can be broken.
    I KNOW, right?

    Now I find out that I am no longer "strong like bull". LOL!
    What's next? Man, I don't even want to think about it.  :D

    I had my right shoulder rebuilt a couple years ago.  Rotator cuff torn in a couple places, labral tears, gleno-humoral head is badly eroded, biceps tendon was stretched and frayed, what else...?  That's all I can remember right now.  It's a beetch.  Got through all the rehab, great range of motion, not as strong as I once was, but, none of the other parts are, either.  Fell off a step at my nieces house 4th of July and landed heavy right smack on it.  I've been afraid to have the doc look at it, just keep doing the exercises and hoping.  
        For the last couple weeks I've been re-facing my garage.  Get the nephews over for heavy lifting, but I still end up having to climb up on the scaffolds and show them how.  Pain.  Just a way of life.

    Yes, getting old sucks, but, it sure beats the alternative!!

    I just found out that I am the oldest person at the college.  The one guy older than me just retired, bummer!
