14 here and the wind chill makes it feel like minus 2. Going down to 5 tonight. A wind chill advisory is in effect until 10 am Sunday with wind chills from 0 to minus 15 below.

It's been interesting lately, the watershed has been frozen over the last few days and in the late afternoon I go up and listen to the ice talk. 26 acre crystallized drum head moving ever so slightly produces unearthly sounds. Some low, soft, some very loud. We had sleet...followed by snow. Made the state trooper that pulled me over stand out in it for 10 minutes while I read the citation he'd just written me. Then on the way home I almost creamed a deer because they never salted the roads and the ltitle black coupe couldn't find traction.
