Roadster show in Portland.

0patience0patience Posts: 10,665 ✭✭✭✭✭
My baby brother texted me today asking what I was doing this weekend.
He's in Billings, MT and it caught me off guard.
I told him I hadn't planned that far.
He then tells me he will have one of his rat rods at the Portland Roadster show and I should come to Portland this weekend.

So I text momma and tell her what's going on and she just says, "Do we buy the tickets online or at the show?" Gotta love her.
So I find out that O'Reilly's has the tickets discounted, so I call over to the local store and the guy I deal with says they are discounted and he'll set out 5 for me. Perfect!

So now momma and I and the boys will head to Portland Saturday and spend the day with my little brother.
We haven't had the chance to visit with each other in 25 years.
May even get a chance to meet with Chip Foose.
If you don't know who Chip Foose is, you aren't a car guy and it doesn't matter. LOL!

Looking forward to this weekend.

Sounds like a great time.  Take lots of "pitchers".

How very cool. I would have given a left nut for a rod like that when I was about 18 or 20.

I take it your brother’s name is Eddie. He’s very good at building those...

    Yep. His name is Eddie.
I used to call him "Special Ed". LOL!

Nice photos Tony! Hope you and your bro are having a good weekend. Any stock Model A's? They're my favorite  :)

Pretty much nothing could be considered stock there.

    Closest to stock.

Cute little Tudor. Looks like something Brian Wilson would drive. Those Foose rims?

    Not sure on that one.
I didn't get much of a look at it.
Rat Rod Magazine was interviewing my little brother for their video feed and I was distracted.

About 9:10 minutes in is my brother.
You will see me walk away when they walk up to my brother. LOL!

I tried to see if they put it up on YouTube, but couldn't find anything.

Looks like one bad azz car show. A little bit of everything. You must be very proud of your little brother.

I am proud of him. But I ain't gonna tell him that. LOL!

When I was younger and teaching him about cars, I never thought he would surpass me. He did and while we build different vehicles, he's in a whole different class than me and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
They had a couple more rat rods they were going to bring, but not enough tow rigs, so they only brought one.

And when you are in a group of some of the best builders in the nation and they make a comment to your little brother about being self taught and he corrects them and tells them that his big brother taught him, well a guy gets to beaming a little.

So my niece found out my brother was in Portland last weekend, from my son's Fakebook posts and got all pissed off because no one invited her.

My middle brother added fuel to the fire by telling her this weekend was a brother's weekend and it wasn't about her.
    Ouch. LOL!

Funny how nieces and nephews think they have the right to tell their aunt and uncles what they should be doing. Like they actually have a say in anything.

It seems the car was the poster child for the Sturgis Rat Rod Invasion show.
