“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)

I once licked a pair of wires on a roof to see if it was live because I didn't want to walk down to the van to get my voltmeter. It was. 24 V AC camera voltage, nice bite to it.
This was the same building that I felt a sharp bite on my ear from 90 V ring voltage when I was foolishly leaning against a wall of telephone punch blocks.

When I was working in the field, I used the Makita 9.6 V rechargeable tools, but after all these years the batteries don't have the umph they used to. Now most tools seem to use 18 V batteries, maybe I need to start licking them instead of the 9 V batteries for more umph.

I think this about cheese all the time. Who looked at the rotten milk with lumps in it, ate it, and then tried to make it intentionally.
Probably the same guy who looked at a cow’s teats and said, “I’m gonna yank on those and drink whatever comes out”:.... 😜
This explains much......

Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
