I used to wonder if I could cut a cigar into short sections and smoke those in a pipe. I did it, and I was not pleased with it. You'll never know for sure about the cocobolo thing until you try it. But I'm guessing it wouldn't be satisfying, and IMHO it looks just as goofy as sticking a cigar in a cob.

When I first started as a police officer, our nightsticks were made of cocobolo. I'm not sure if that answers your question.
