No probs per se with my ticker. I merely volunteered to be a guinea pig for a medical trial of a widget called a Watchman, which is inserted into heart via groin. Came home yesterday mid-day. Been dealing with bleeding. Otherwise, woke up this morning from a long deep sleep sporting morning wood. Will be doing the high kick soon.
Turns out you have an appendix-like pocket in your left atrium where blood pools. If you fibrillate, clots can form there, then migrate to the brain, which strokes you out. The Watchman is a bit of structure which they plant in the pocket. Up the vein into the heart, pierce into the next chamber, fasten. Then your heart grows a plug over it. This eliminates the pooling place. Once that's done, them pesky blood thinners become irrelevant. Clever fellows.
Yes, hospital food is execrable. Artificial scrambled eggs I kid you not.
Yes, nurses are charming. Winsome Melissa shaved my groinage as tho prepping me for a career in ****. Tiny Devie from Java spent hours tending my bandages there. Love them girls.
Yes, hospital admin is consistently idiotic. I musta repeated: "Read my record" a hundred times. The check out girl, for instance, asked my address, just in case I'd moved since the check in girl asked my address. If you ask why, they begin a sentence with "We have to..." then trail off into pointless. For example: "Why do you wake me up every hour to take blood pressure when you already have this automatic cuff on my arm?" Reply: "We have to..." These people are completely obsessed with numbers. Paper records repeated in computer records.
Home now, looking forward to real coffee & real breakfast. Eggs will crack. A pig will die. Not that I have anything against pigs. I am one. You are what you eat.
Back to rolling gars this afternoon. Gonna put binder m& wrapper in the leaf conditioning chamber now.

such a curmudgeon, @webmost. The redundancy may be irritating, you are entitled to feel that way, but it cuts down on technical and human error. Think of it as them caring whether you live, or die from mistakes, malpractice, or neglect.

It's my drying out box. That's where they go right off the table for the wrapper & binder to lose their dampness. Makes the wrapper shrink down tight & smooth, makes the binder tighten the gar up nice & firm, & prevents new rolls from going stonky.
Next step, they go in a regular gar box inside a huge coolidor, where they age for six months or so.
That fine box right there started out as Kuzi's discarded humi.

... and here's the same Gold Labels, put away to stash for six months:
This box was conditioned before the gars went in it. I set the prospective stash box inside an otherwise empty coolidor alongside a damp rag for a couple of weeks. Now that the fresh rolls have been dried and tightened in Kuzi's dry box, they go into their long term storage in this newly conditioned gar box, which goes in an aging coolidor which is presently at 64%.
Not that I know what I'm doing. Just hobbying around. But as long as you are hobbying, why not go all cerebral and schidt.
In June, we'll know how it worked out.

It's kinda like your buddy's dog humping your leg; it thinks it's getting some and he has no clue he's getting nowhere, but everybody is laughing at the silly dog.
Basically, hinting that I want to get a free cigar, and believe me, we've seen some creative ways of doing it over the years. Also, it can be a great way to poke fun at someone. Some say it's a curse because it prevents someone from asking a sincere question or asking for an opinion on a cigar for fear of being called a dry-beggar.
But trust me, we know when someone is actually dry-begging, and generally if/when we use the term it's in good clean fun. Now carry on; get your 50 posts in. At this rate, you're even faster than @VegasFrank.
