Aaron, director of production and sales for IGM, is not only proud of the award-winning boutique cigars produced under his helm, but particularly of the exquisite Costa Rican tobacco his family grows in the mountainous region of Santa Marta de Puriscal.

He describes their farm as the only active tobacco plantation in the country as of today.

Best known for his legendary tenure as master blender and director of quality at Davidoff in the Dominican Republic, Eladio Díaz is a luminary of the cigar industry.

After 35 years at Tabadom Holding, Inc., alongside Henke Kelner, Díaz left in 2021. Soon after his departure, he announced that he would be opening his own cigar factory in Santiago de los Caballeros, DR, together with various members of the family.

While Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera initially produced cigars for private label customers, like Freud Cigar Co., the family soon announced the Eladio Díaz 70, a limited edition cigar to commemorate Díaz’s 70th birthday.

With Eladio Díaz Before & After the first regular production cigar was then introduced to the market.

Eladio’s son, Emmanuel, who served as the former director of international sales at E.P. Carrillo, and now works as Commercial Director at Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera, will be joining us together with his father for this very special interview.

“Family was the cornerstone of our father’s existence. Despite long hours spent in the factory, he always prioritized quality time at home, ensuring that every moment shared was filled with love.“

For every box sold, $10 will be donated in José’s memory to the Parkinson's Foundation in the Dominican Republic.

This week, Enrique joins us to pay homage to his father José, and talk about this legacy cigar.
