I mean I don't necessarily agree with him. They handle tens of millions of pieces of mail, maybe hundreds of millions, a day. Tens of thousands of packages all with tracking numbers also. Once in awhile one is late. BFD. But a flag? Is this forum left with nothing but a bunch of candy as$$es? 😂

I am not really complaining about it being late. As you say stuff happens. My complaints are:

    1) 40 hours from NJ to MA. Are you kidding me.

    2) Website that doesnt reflect real life. 2 hours out from delivery and (IMHO) it would
be pretty easy for the software to see it isnt going to make the estimated delivery
time instead of just chugging along with obviously incorrect info.

    3) Over 6 hours later, no updated delivery info.

Brown, Purple and The South American River do it better with, I imagine similar package volumes. Maybe I am just spoiled.

    Let fly guys....

Yeah that's all fine. The only thing I'll say is that you could also drive and pick them up or whatever, but I have stuff shipped from Henderson Nevada half hour away from me all the time.

I mean the software is the software. I've had it say that it was stuck in the regional distribution center when it was on my front porch and I've had it say that it was delivered when it was still in the truck. Okay it's not perfect but whatever man. I'm guessing that the software development team at the USPS were a bunch of probationary employees that Elon fired. Good luck getting it fixed. 😂

I love how people demand perfection from the government and then demand the fukking government cut its entire workforce by 10%.

I mean nothing against you personally @CheapSmoke, and I'm not trying to guess your politics, but we live live in a first world where we want postal software to be absolutely perfect for 10 million packages a day, while we fire government scientists who are working on food safety and disease detection because somebody read somewhere a fake news headline that claimed the government gave $20 million to study wombats **** each other in the eye socket.

I consider myself pretty right wing conservative which generally seems to fit this forum. I have to agree taking a blow torch to the government without forethought is a poor idea. But I would put forth there is a fair amount of waste and mismanagemt

I had 270 words banged out in response to this, but I'm not going to turn it into another political thread. I'm glad you enjoyed your headlines. The actual dollar savings in those headlines is far less than what they said. Just wait for the OMB report.

I wonder why people question only the fake news that goes against their own political leanings. Never mind, no I don't.

Anybody that thinks the government is run efficiently, lacks the mental acuity to form a reasonable argument. Biden added at least 1.5 million to the payroll. Anyone notice any added benifits? Better performance? Shorter wait times etc?

This really isnt a political thing to me. Just the fact that obviously the ability and technology exists and this performance seems to indicate a sub-par system in many areas.

Our gov't honchos seem to be stuck in a TLDR loop, too much work to iron out the wrinkles.

Anybody who thinks efficiency is the goal also lacks the mental acuity to form a reasonable argument. Efficiency is not the goal. Service to the population is the goal.

I could run the IRS pretty efficiently. If my software calculates that you made a mistake, there's not an audit, there's a prison sentence. Fukkk you and your rights. I'm trying to be efficient.

I could run social security way more efficiently, never mind that 5 to 9% of the people wouldn't get their monthly money drops like they were supposed to, but God damn we could cut the staff by 80%. **** those old bastards who need their money. I don't give a shít.

I could also run the dod way more efficiently and we'd all be speaking fukking German or Mandarin or writing in Cyrillic right now. Do you think Roosevelt was worried about efficiency during Omaha? Jesus Christ you have to be fuking kidding me.

Let's all use our freaking heads people. Efficiency is for business. Every one of us interacts with the federal government in some way. Medicare. Obamacare. Social security. IRS. Those things are there to serve the population not to run like a **** business.

Congrats Dave, you're the first person in 9 months to actually trigger me.

Edit...... And how exactly long do you think the wait times will be after we cut 10% of the workforce? I cannot believe that somebody is bïtching about wait times in one breath then wanting to cut more people and close more brick and mortar branches in areas of high volume IN THE VERY NEXT BREATH. I don't even know how to fukīng reconcile that bro. You have literally stumped me.

Okay we'll bring this back to the post office. Can't wait to have my small flat rate box for priority mail, guaranteed delivery in 35 days, for the small price of a hundred bucks.

Just imagine that. It would be great. Nobody would use the post office anymore and we could fire all those people. For the small few who insist on using the post office at those rates for those times, we'd only need a few employees. It would probably still make money! That's pretty fukking efficient bro.
