First bicycle ride of the year. 20 miles (cut it back from a planned 28, mid-ride). I am beat anyway.

Went on my daily walk this AM. Dropped down into the woods on a old single lane log road when some folks have been clearing uprooted trees that fell across the road. Half way through I saw and heard a Pileated Woodpecker. Big male with a bright red head. First one I've seen in more than a year. The woods are pretty much torn up but life goes on. Made my day.

Walked out my front door to spoke and this dude comes strolling up. Yes I have chickens, but no clue where this rooster came from.

Looks like another rooster kicked him out of the flock.

Looks like he has no clue where he's been, but he had a helluva time.

Plovers are back. Every year they return to the same spot to nest in the sand above the high tide line. The town ropes off the area at the beach to keep people from stepping on the nests.

Are those the birds that run across the wet sand really fast at dusk?

I don’t know what those numbers mean. Is this any good? I don’t have one of them mesh thingies you guys are always talking about.
If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

Now don’t get your Best Buy briefs in a bunch there little fella. Picked up this one from the big blue box you called your second home a couple years back when you fellas told me to get a mesh extender.
Reset it and to @VegasFrank ’s dismay, Zoom worked far better this evening.

still trying to catch the roof-eating raccoon so I can have a talk with it. Let a possum out this morning, cute little bugger, doesn't eat roofs, apologized.

I never saw the Shrek resemblance that Justine @Chalupa_Batman saw, but now that you're standing next to this most-excellent artwork, I'm starting to see it.

Went camping in the Redwoods from r my anniversary. Saw some wildlife and enjoyed some cigars. It was great being back outdoors for a bit.
I don't have problems, just more work to do.
