Lots of speculation, but since STG now owns the site after buying Mac Baren / Sutliff and they are a European company they must comply with EU GDPR. (General Data Protection Regulation) They initially geofenced the site so that only people from the USA could see it (without using a VPN) and have since shut it down for maintenance. It could be that they're revamping the site to comply with GDPR or just doing upgrades. We'll see, I hope it comes back and that they don't try to make it subscription based.

Question for you more knowledgeable guys....
I bought banana tobacco but it's a bit dried out and the flavor/aroma is weak. Can I sprits the tobacco with natural banana extract to bring back the aroma? Will this just ruin it?

Maybe just try a bowls worth. I wouldn’t advise doing it much though. Most of what is used for flavorings are not actually derived from the flavors they make.

Will do on the kbv. I like most of the stuff I've tried from them. But I've got a full lb of banana tobacco and one of toffee right now. Have a lb each of coffee and spiced rum coming in a few days. Those two should be easy if they're too faint.

I compared the new banana tobacco to the older stuff I have. It's slightly dryer than the older stuff but the aroma is about the same. I guess I was just getting ahead of myself. I'll compare the coffee tobacco I currently have with the new bag I'm getting on monday. That'll be an easy one.

Think there's any difference between these two tobaccos? Figure there must be for them to keep both in their catalog. Then again, they did just close their doors for good. With tobaccoreviews.com down I can't look to see if there's a review of each tobacco from the same people.

It's almost like they don't want you to know the difference, if any. One says Virginia's and other tobaccos while the other says Virginia, Burley and Cavendish. Kind of hard to know if there was a real difference. Thanks, Chris.

Ok, https://web.archive.org/ only has the front page and the "click over 18" pages of tobaccoreviews.com
archived. I guess I'm outta luck funding two reviews from the same site with tasting notes, etc.
On to something else.

I searched for the review in the browser's search engine first with search terms like "tobaccoreviews almondine" and then I took the search result link from the right result and pasted that link into the Archive.org wayback machine and pulled up a result from 2024 and Bob's your uncle. I had less luck starting from the Tobaccoreviews home page in the Wayback Machine.

Drunk ordering is even realer. Emailed them to cancel my order.

Gave my brother 3 briars and about 20 tobacco samples. Instruction on the use of the tamper, etc. We'll see....

Duh, google.....

Maybe adding extract to white rum? A possibility.

I found a company that sells flavored attracts based on vanilla. Maybe this is the vanillan Google mentioned?

Vanillin is the actual naturally occurring compound that causes the flavor we know as vanilla. Vanilla extract is mostly vanillin.
Maybe something like this?

Is the tobacco hard to come by? I’m just wondering if it would be worth going through all the trouble instead of just pitching it and getting more.
It's disappearing. Can't find another bulk flavored tobacco other than the dwindling stocks of sutliff.

Google gives me these reviews but, once again, site down. Going to try to find the archived pages on this site.

The links I provided are to archived reviews of these tobaccos. You have to go back far enough so that the age check works on the Wayback Machine.
Oh, ok. I'll try that. Thanks, chris.

If I go back farther it asks if I'm 21 but give an error every time.

Just let me adult kids smell some drying cherry pipe tobacco. They said it smells like playdough and they are correct. Ruined for me now
You are not 21, much older I suspect.
