How it's going everyone ??
I'm Jay from Central Pa..
I just got into cigars and got hooked on the Aston Classic and La Aroma De Cuba Classic but always open for suggestions. Scrapped some money together to grab 3 La Aroma De Cuba but failed to realized that my cigar cutters are gone..So now I wait till the new ones come in the mail ...Hello Jay @WolfHunter909_ . How central in PA? I'm near Hershey.
Right outside Hershey
Any Cigar places you suggest or lounges ??I too am right outside Hershey, 5 minutes from the Medical Center. For a B&M store with BYOB policy, The Tobacco Company in Swatara Square shopping center is nice It has a very well-stocked humidor. For lounges with humidors and a liquor license, Guillotine in Hummelstown is a nice, but quite small place, and I just found Oscars Cigar Lounge on 422 in Palmyra, which has the limited PA only liquor license. The humidors are not extensive. Oscars bill themselves as cigar and sports lounge, with multiple TVs, and supposedly a golf simulator. If you get around a little, Aroma Cigar Loft in Lititz is a nice BYOB lounge, located just above Appalachian Brew Pub, for food and drinks to carry upstairs.

I hope both of you realize you’re about a 50 min drive away from Cigars International superstore and lounge in Hamburg. They have an endless variety of cigars for low prices.

I grew up about 5 minutes away from the location, and remember when the State Police barracks was the only thing there besides overgrown farm fields.

Hey yall! I’m Ross. I’m new to the site but I decided to join because I have read some very interesting conversations through the threads and would love to be part of it. I am a huge cigar fan and have been for a few years now. I love the art behind the cigar and the passion it took to create something that we literally burn away. I have tried so many cigars including many kinds of Cubans but I have only tried a fraction of what is available and I am excited for my continued journey to find hidden gems. I have more of an interest in premium cigars, but I think it’s because I have not found the right “budget” cigar yet. My favorite cigar of all time has to be the Zino crown series double grande, or the Cohiba Behike. I don’t think I’ll ever get a chance at another Behike again but I will never forget it. lol other than that I enjoy many other brands. My local cigar shop just got in the Opus X 25th anniversary edition cigars and humidor. Talk about a piece of art, but super pricey. It’s too rich for my blood. Anyways, I’m glad to be here, if any of you have any recommendations for budget friendly cigars I would love to hear it. I have a picky palette.

I’ve been trying to find my budget cigar too, and I’ve been really liking the Macanudo Inspirado White. I’m starting to like the black too. I’m very new to the cigar world, though, and haven’t tried a whole lot yet.

Inspirado red is better.

I have a picky palette. The Zino Crown and the Behike are two very different cigars, and looking at the blend on the Opus 25th, it will be different from both. So my question is, what budget sticks have you tried that you didn’t like? What didn’t you like about them?

Welcome Ross @Ross_G89 you came to the right place. Before we try to recommend anything, like @Rdp77 said above, it would be helpful to have a starting point. Nicaragua, Dominican, Honduran…etc etc. Perhaps you could help us out with cigars you’ve had experience with, good and bad.
A good cigar and the open road solve most problems.

Hey yall! I’m Ross...., if any of you have any recommendations for budget friendly cigars I would love to hear it. I have a picky palette.Watch the "What are you smoking threads" for ideas, then look up the cigars being smoked. Some will not be "budget" cigars, but you can figure out how they fit into your budget. I've been smoking cigars for more than 50 years now, and I see cigars I've never seen before in those threads weekly. Welcome to the forum, hope that helps.

So responding to some of your questions, I find a beauty in cigars from all around. I have found great cigars from Nicaragua, Honduras, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, even the US with JC Newman. I haven’t tried too many budget cigars, mostly because I think I just have an expensive pallet which sucks because I enjoy cigars so much. As for the cigars I have tried, the list is very long, but my favorites would have to be, Rocky Patel white label, Diamond Crown, Montecristo #2 (Cuba) Cohiba Siglo, Ave Maria Reconquista, Zino platinum grand master series, Montecristo Espada, all Davidoff cigars, Partegas (Cuba) Graycliff espresso and the 10 year and 30 year vintage, AF Hemingway, rare pink, casa Cuba, opus X, Don Carlos, Red Anchor, Gurkha cellar reserve 12-21 year, Guerkha beauty, titan, dragon, signature. Cohiba Connecticut, Nicaragua, red dot. That’s all I can really think of at the moment although I’ve tried many others.
Ones I don’t like so far are the Rocky Patel
disciple, Tatuje, Padrón, some My Fathers, punch, brick house, Don Raphael.
My favorite flavors are a smooth and creamy note. By far, the farm smell and flavor of some Cubans is something that can never be replaced for me, but I always pair my cigars with a strong coffee, or a glass of bourbon. If
I’m smoking a Cuban then I pair it with Rum. I have done a lot of research on a lot of Cigars about their flavor profiles, and where they came from and how the tobacco is grown. I also research the quality based on the construction of the Cigars and reviews on their flavor profiles and their burn. I even check to see all the ratings the cigars have.0 -
Will count me a little confused. I see that you like some Cubans, which I would say are on the medium strong side, with the exception of the number two. However, most of the other cigars that you mentioned that you like are what I would say, mild medium, and the ones that you don’t like or stronger cigars.
So I guess my question would be why haven’t you looked in the more budget conscious price range of cigars with like-minded flavor profiles of the ones that you enjoy.
A good cigar and the open road solve most problems.

I also research the quality based on the construction of the Cigars and reviews on their flavor profiles and their burn. I even check to see all the ratings the cigars have. There is no such thing as an expensive palate. There is however the belief that expensive correlates to better. This is not always the case, especially with cigars. Several of the cigars you mentioned have a high MSRP but can be bought online for very reasonable prices. For instance, the Reconquista and Zino Platinum can found every day for under $5 a stick.Same with the Graycliff 10 and 30 year. To be honest, most if not all of the Gurkha you mentioned can be as well. The Espadas can be had for $6 a stick regularly. I’m guessing you’re buying from a b&m. If that’s the case, the prices are inflated on the ones I’ve mentioned for several reasons. One, anything will be higher in a shop that has to pay their bills. Two, a lot of the cigars mentioned are also all owned by one company. That company can sell their cigars across their many websites at much lower prices than they will even sell them to a second party seller.
If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.
