- Zoom is scaling back paid parental leave, while Deloitte is trimming PTO and other offerings for select workers.
- Many employers have already slashed perks such as gym discounts to rein in costs.
- Once a few big employers make a move, "it legitimizes that action for everybody else," said a former Google HR head.
Living in Silicon Valley, I've seen firsthand how these things roll out across the valley.

Paid time off? Parental leave, gym memberships? I'd like to see some of these perks at my job.

I don't, ow what else is in the farm bill but will check out what else is in it. I am concerned by federal law preempting state regulations regarding protecting pollenators.
........
The Federal House of Representatives Farm Bill is moving forward for a vote next week. It contains language that threatens to preempt, and thereby nullify, all state and local pesticide restrictions as well as gut the endangered species act, cut conservation funding, and more.If this bill becomes law, our work at the state level to protect pollinators from pesticides is over. All regulation will be set at the federal level.
Multiple sections of the bill exempt chemicals from review, block consumers from suing chemical companies for health harms, and strip states and localities of the ability to adopt stronger pesticide protections—potentially nullifying hundreds of existing laws, including bans on spraying near schools.
All individuals, please call or email your Federal House Representative and ask them to VOTE 'NO' ON THE HOUSE FARM BILL.

I have trouble believing it will “ strip states and localities of the ability to adopt stronger pesticide protections”. If so, it will end up in the Supreme Court.
If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

"The big picture: We've no clue where this ends, and the good or bad that might be unleashed along the way. No one does. But it's increasingly clear that absent better leadership, collaboration and understanding, American society, workers, academic institutions and government aren't remotely ready for what's unfolding."
