Back home now. Things went as well as we could expect. Everyone was civil, no doubt helped by the presence of a police officer during the walk-through (requested by us through the Sheriff's Department). Things should no be able to proceed to a final agreement, and closure.
Yes, @edz, it is a shame it had to go this direction, but it is for the best that the separation happened. One should not allow another to treat them as a second-class person whose only end is to make the other feel important. I am glad my daughter finally came to that conclusion, and acted upon the realization.

Agree about the separation may be the best thing. It was in my mothers case as well. My mothers was at a time when Catholics didn't get divorced, not many did. But thankfully she had strong family support, that's why I can appreciate what you and and your family are doing for her. Give you tons of credit.

Up early today, loaded my truck with a bunch of scrap metal to take to the metal recycler as part of our prep to move. I checked the website, confirmed they're open the first and third Saturday of the month from 8a-12p. Got to the place at 8:30, gates were closed and locked. I called the phone number and listened to the message stating their NEW hours, including CLOSED every weekend. GRRR. I'll have to haul the stuff around for three days until Wednesday, when they are open until 6pm, or take it on Monday morning and be 2 hours late for work.

Rachel took on mowing last year due to some medical issues I had. This year she has a bad knee and so I decided to try mowing with just one hand. I used her battery powered mower with no trouble. About 60 lbs lighter than my 100 lb beast. Feels good. Next up I got an appointment with an osteopathic clinic to see if I need a cast rather than the brace. Wrist bone isn't healing.

Moving to the house I've been working on the last couple years. It's been literally a pain. First move in > 25 years, good grief I have a lot of junk! But, the big news, to me, is that I cannot lift, pull, carry etc. as remembered. I'll think "Sure, heck, I can lift that by myself. That's how I got it in here." Not so. It's hell getting old, but I guess I'll keep doing it, until I don't.
