What part of the taxpayer-funded Trump/IRS settlement do you not like? @Amos_UmwhatSorry for the delay in giving you an actual answer, Edward. I have no idea. I've been way too busy to pay much attention to politics lately, and while I try to tolerate my countrymen's selections in the hopes that things will work out I don't always follow the day to day meanderings of our fractured government. As in the past, I try to support our side no matter who's in charge.
As anyone with reading comprehension ability will know, that does not mean that I "worship" the people I hope are doing the best for us, I reserve the right to believe that they are also mere human beings just trying to do their best. On that note, I did decide to get "cable" TV instead of just broadcast like I've had for the last 10 or 15 years, so maybe I will understand the motivations behind all the drama.
All my stuff is moved to the house I've been remodeling for the last couple years, but nearly nothing is
unpacked. I've got about 60 years of stuff from a few families to go through before all is settled, and the physical move itself took a toll on my already aged and battered body. It's all good, I do the best I can with what I have.At any rate, Edward and most others, please do not take any of my recent rancor as being directed toward yourselves, except of course for the one obviously abusive person who continues to fail to read what's written before launching his next assault. I will strive to do better to ignore him in the future and not contribute to the unsettling drama he lives for.
All I read was "cable" . As in better internet connection. As in Steve on vHerf!
I know, You're a big dog and I'm on the list.

I really liked the “reading comprehension” bit . Spoken like your idol. This is why I still say you’re chock full of it. You still say things like abusive and assault but that’s you in a nut shell. You post abusive memes depicting someone mimicking someone with special needs…. You are no better than me my friend. Most of the time I’m responding to your back handed comments insulting me for my beliefs. I will also try to not respond to his insulting retorts and understand that with age comes knowledge and tiredness.
The one big difference is I know I’m trolling…. You be you.

America, politically, could use a dose of escitalopram, lol
Abstract
Serotonin reduces belief stickiness
Serotonin fosters cognitive flexibility, but how, exactly, remains unclear. We developed a computational theory that proposes that serotonin reduces belief stickiness: the tendency to get ‘stuck’ in a belief about the state of the world despite incoming contradicting evidence.
We tested this theory in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study using a single dose of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor escitalopram. In the escitalopram group, higher escitalopram plasma levels reduced belief stickiness more, resulting in better inference about the state of the world.
Moreover, participants with sufficiently high escitalopram plasma levels had less belief stickiness, and therefore better state inference, than participants on placebo. We also propose that obsessions may result from excessive belief stickiness.
Indeed, participants with more obsessions had greater belief stickiness, and therefore worse state inference. The opposite relations of escitalopram and obsessions with belief stickiness may explain the therapeutic effect of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in obsessive–compulsive disorder.

You could replace leftism with MAGA and it would still come out to be the same message.

You either spend your entire day consumed by finding these videos or this is the algorithm that supplies your information. Either way…. Scary…..🫣
What kind of “discussion” is this gonna build? Zero and you know that? Again, you think your trolling is any different than mine? 🤮🤮🤮

I guess you're right. I mean, anyone can see it, all they have to do is remember all the times that I called you a LIBTARD. Anyone who wants can just scroll back through the pages and see how many times you questioned something on the left, and I came back with "No, you loved it!! Because you're a LIBTARD!!" Or you agreed with some crazy thing the left came up with and I responded with "Of course you LOVED it!! Because you're a LIBTARD!!. Face it Vision, you're a LIBTARD!!* You worship Chuck Schumer!! LIBTARD!! "
Why, we're almost twins, aren't we? I mean, my childhood heroes were Daniel Boone, Superman, Dwight Eisenhower etc., I grew up reading Mark Twain and Arthur Conan Doyle and Alexandre Dumas, and then moved on to Robert A. Heinlein and Isaac Asimov, eventually moving on to Soren Kierkegaard and Heidegger, GWF Hegel etc., these were the influences that shaped who I am. You grew up with whatever forces shaped you into the Bud Bundy / Bart Simpson / Beavis Butthead that you are today. It's like we were separated at birth.
You're right about one thing, these videos pop up, seem interesting and relevant to me, so I share them with others who may, or may not appreciate them. Some will, some won't. Makes no difference to me if you don't, some people might appreciate the point of view.
- (At this point I've typed libtard more times in this one post than I have in my entire life up to this time. I wonder how many times Vision has typed MAGA at someone, as if it were a magic word that validates his insane rant?).
Apologies to all, again. I let it go, but some folks need the attention, so they poke the bear. Sad, isn't it?

MAGA 💩
Jello and nappy time. Pathetic and tired same ol’ MAGA self hate.
You’re just mad that you’re not used to somebody opposing your ultra right wing overly conservative views on life, your antiquated view on the world…..
You didn’t post that video to seem smart. You posted that to illicit a response. You got what you wanted, man…enjoy it. You have lived in an echo chamber, your whole life. Surrounded by those with the same antiquated beliefs that you’ve grown up with. I guess age does have its benefits.
PS… I know this is a newer term but, Little bro… you are the king of gaslighting.

straight from the President DJ Trump, a Memorial Day message of merriment to half the nation"
from Newsweek:
President Donald Trump has branded Democrats as "Dumocrats" in his Memorial Day message, as millions of Americans prepare to honor those who served and died in the U.S. military.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: "Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all! President DONALD J. TRUMP"
In a follow-up post, he wrote: "The Dumocrats have BAD POLICY, AND BAD CANDIDATES. Other than that, they are doing quite well! President DJT"

No, I don't think it was. You seem to handle things on your own, which is admirable in that respect. Truthfully, I personally don't care who it was. May even have been a mistake. Either way, feel as though it was pretty harsh, lol.

We should expect a little more decorum and honest effort to unite from our leaders. I used to constantly refer to the 2 major parties as "Repugnicans and Dumbocrats", but I'm just a schmo. Still, we as a nation need to turn away from such antics.

Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) stock hit an all-time high of $263.99 on Friday, May 8, surging as much as 14.6% intraday after President Donald Trump used a Mother's Day event at the White House to thank the Dell family by name and tell Americans to "go out and buy a Dell." (1)

Dell Gets a $9.7 Billion Defense Contract. Trump’s Portfolio Stands to Benefit.
The president’s family says his stock purchases are automatically timed, but recent acquisitions of the computer company’s shares raise questions.

Michael and Susan Dell pledged in December to donate $6.25 billion to kick off the “Trump accounts” program that creates special investment savings accounts with tax benefits for American children.Credit...Doug Mills/The New York TimesPresident Trump earlier this year purchased more than $1 million in the stock of Dell Technologies, a transaction that is drawing scrutiny after the Pentagon this week announced a $9.7 billion contract with the Texas-based computer company.
The sequence of events illustrates the complications that emerge when a sitting president continues, even if through financial advisers, to buy and sell publicly traded stocks like Dell.
But this Dell stock purchase draws new attention to the inherent problems precipitated by the Trump family’s widespread investments since Mr. Trump returned to the White House. They include the family’s move into military drone manufacturing, cryptocurrency, mining and the predictions market, even as Mr. Trump oversees policy and government purchase decisions for those same sectors.

This is terrible but happens all the time on both sides. Should it be illegal for certain people in the government to own individual stocks? You would think insider trading would be illegal.

It was just fine when Pelosi was doing it.
Trapped in the People's Communist Republic of Massachusetts.

My disagree Shawn. I cant believe anyone thinks that this is ok for anyone.
2 -
I don't think it was fine for Pelosi, but the MSM certainly didn't gnash their teeth and wail about it like they will if Trump does the same. We see this all the time, lots of coverage of Trump calling them Dumbocrats, little or no outrage at what started it, the Democrats using the fallen soldiers in Iran to push their agenda against Trump. To their credit the DNC retracted their propaganda when called out by members of their own party, like T. Duckworth.
The stock thing is a complex problem. Even public officials have rights as individuals to conduct their business, however, the potential for conflict of interest is huge. It's hard to swallow that Pelosi's husband just happened to be the most prescient trader the financial world has ever seen, certainly would seem that he was acting on inside information. Her corruption does not excuse corruption from her political opponents. I have no idea what a satisfactory resolution might be.
"If you do not read the newspapers you're uninformed. If you do read the newspapers, you're misinformed." -- Mark Twain1 -
Political discussions get messy fast.
"Some commentators have defended the usage of whataboutism and tu quoque in certain contexts. Whataboutism can provide necessary context into whether or not a particular line of critique is relevant or fair, and behavior that may be imperfect by international standards may be appropriate in a given geopolitical neighbourhood.[8] Accusing an interlocutor of whataboutism can also in itself be manipulative and serve the motive of discrediting, as critical talking points can be used selectively and purposefully even as the starting point of the conversation (cf. agenda setting, framing, framing effect, priming, cherry picking). The deviation from them can then be branded as whataboutism.[citation needed] Both whataboutism and the accusation of it are forms of strategic framing and have a framing effect."
-- wikipedia2 -
I'd never heard the term "whataboutism", but it seems apt.
