    https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/us-paying-almost-25000-month-store-unusable-contraceptives-stuck-belgium-2026-06-15/

LONDON/NAIROBI, June 15 (Reuters) - The United States is spending almost $25,000 every month to store contraceptives in Belgium that were originally bought for ‌use in poorer nations but are now mainly unusable, according to a report from officials reviewed by Reuters.
Around $9.7 million worth of contraceptives, including implants and pills, have been stuck in a Belgian warehouse since January last year, when the U.S. first froze foreign aid. The stock could have helped prevent millions of unwanted pregnancies and saved lives, aid sources have said.

Between January 2025 and March of this year, storing and transporting the stock has cost $360,667

    AI strikes again

“It was pretty cool to see a ticket that’s $4,000, and I could just hit a button and issue as many as I wanted,” says Carroll, who runs the startup Seats.aero but also does independent security research. “I could go to every single event with no limitations or restrictions: I could get the backstage pass or whatever they sell to the super VIPs—even if it’s sold out.”

I can't understand how a chicken farmer can turn a profit selling eggs for $ 2.00/dozen

On an industrial scale, the actual chicken is the main source of income. Eggs are a byproduct that add to the profit.

They'd rather break even than hear everyone **** and complain about $3 eggs. Oh no, my dozen eggs that can make two or three or four or up to twelve meals cost nearly half of what I spend on a gotdamn cup of coffee twice a day!

Well, if you have 500,000 chicken and each lays an egg every day..... lots of eggs.

An AI just carried out a cyber attack without any human oversight for the first time | The Independent https://share.google/owQvxVkj8qHbBSmL6

The fully automated campaign involved an AI carrying out a ransomware attack, where victims are forced to pay a ransom in order to regain access to their data.

A team from cloud security firm Sysdig said the AI attacker, which they named Jadepuffer, broke into a vulnerable server, discovered passwords and login credentials, and then encrypted a production database before demanding a bitcoin ransom.

"How have authorities justified the killing? The ICE agents who stopped Salgado Araujo claimed he “weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer” who then fired his weapon “in self-defense”, but did not provide evidence to corroborate that account. It is a defense the agency has used in other high-profile incidents, including when Renee Good was killed in Minneapolis, when video evidence later contradicted the description. The officers involved in shooting Salgado Araujo were not wearing body cameras, DHS said." I think it is time to mandate body cameras and prosecute Ice agents when there is a fatality.

CONCORD, N.H. — A New Hampshire state lawmaker who was caught driving 107 mph in 2024 and accused of driving 92 mph on the same highway in 2025 has been making an audacious argument to avoid legal consequences for her speeding.

Ellen Read, a Democratic state representative from Newmarket running for reelection, claims the sheriff’s deputies who stopped her on Interstate 93 had no authority to detain or charge her, since the state’s Constitution says lawmakers cannot be arrested while traveling to or from the Legislature.

Court records show Read has repeatedly asserted “legislative privilege” to ask that charges stemming from the two traffic stops be dismissed on account of the office she holds. She pressed her case all the way to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, which declined in June to hear her appeal at this stage
