Faye and I went for a ride yesterday in the glorious <80F weather. We went up to Ft. Donelson, a civil war site on the Cumberland River which was probably one of General Grant's first significant victories.

Sitting there having a picnic and watching the river we saw a pair of bald eagles hunting the river and moving westward. About 5 minutes later we watched a pair of Ospreys moving east along the river. Smart Ospreys, no use hunting if the eagles are just going to eat your lunch.

Oh, and I brought some Black Irish X Twist mixed 50/50 with SPC Plum Pudding for the pipe, and miraculously she said "Bring that tobacco from now on, it doesn't stink as bad as most of the others you smoke." I had expected rather the opposite reaction. Goes to show, you never know.

I smoke a few blends that my wife likes better than I do, the things we put up with for a happy wife.

Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.

Spent a good bit of time standing on a ladder yesterday. Woke up to leg cramps. I hate when that happens.

Found a good price on a rib roast so I've got it in the crock pot for Sunday dinner with my niece, her husband, and the grandnephews tonight. Doing a Mississippi Mud Roast without the pepperoncinis for broader appeal. It's nice to have beef again.

Move the printers (3D and regular inkjet) downstairs to the office to make room for the Rosy Boa tank in the living room. We're convinced that Rosy is more active downstairs with more activity to observe than upstairs alone in a bedroom. Cleaning surfaces where the printers were and are going to and will be cleaning out Rosy's tank and giving her a bath today.

Washing my Crowned Heads ballcap in the ballcap washing frame.

Punching items off the punch list today before my trip to visit my mom and sister on Monday.

No baking powder. Flour and corn starch

If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

So...I've tried several attempts today. Some got trashed without haste. Rusty, corn starch (seasoned), egg wash, flour (salted?), into the fryer?

Depends on how much breading you’re wanting. I’ve done it like a batter, double dredged it like you said, and just dusted them with a dry mixture of 50/50 cornstarch and flour.
I actually prefer just the dry mixture on thin onions. Makes a light and flaky coating.
