Stupid **** that pops into my head

We are putting in a new floor and everything is in disarray , I foolishlly nearly breka 2 toes running into somethin g and my wife asks "are you o.k." . Was stumped, do I respond yes just stubbed my toes or Yes I was before the pain set it?
