No right answer yet, but one of you was on the right track.
2nd Clue: One of the supporting actors in this movie had a very unfortunate incident at a toll booth in a previous film.

    The Bottle Rocket!

You are correct sir! PM me your info!
  • beatnicbeatnic Posts: 4,133
The tool booth reference did the job.
  • y2pascoey2pascoe Posts: 1,727 ✭✭
Yeah...I thought about saving that for clue #3 or 4. Was going to use referrences to the Lawn Rangers and Dignan's 75 year plan as well.

    GOOGLE sooo ruins these games

This movie was filmed by Francis Ford Coppola.
There is Jazz in the soundtrack.

I agree, the hardest part of this game is making clues that can not be easily searched but aren't too strange that no one gets it.

CLue 2: 3 people die in the movie. The lead character has certain skills that lead the storyline.

    Assassination Tango
    Interesting answer. Wrong, but interesting.
Elk City? You need to branch out.
Drilling Fluids Engineer? Is that fancy for mud logging? LOL. Just kidding.
  • wwesternwwestern Posts: 1,397 ✭✭✭
IMDB failed me;( and no I'm an actual mud engineer lol
  • beatnicbeatnic Posts: 4,133
I was kidding about the mud logger comment. I had to deal with an environmental issue not long ago that involved the spilling of some of this diesel-like-based mud. Nasty stuff. Couldn't coral it. Couldn't collect it. Stunk up the entire area.

Hint 3: Billy Dee Williams has a very small part. The lead actor is a very big name. You can almost hear the Jazz saxaphone.
  • beatnicbeatnic Posts: 4,133
Hint 4: Harrison Ford and Cindy Williams have minor parts. I can hear it now.

The conversation? I think it fits the clues but boy it's been a loooooooong time since I've watched it.

    Correct.
Gene Hackman, Sax player, dark, ... Records conversations, one that he shouldn't. Good flick.

Sweet!!! I think you've inspired me to re-visit this movie. PM incoming.

I'll think of a new movie and post a clue up this evening.
  • bigharpoonbigharpoon Posts: 2,962 ✭✭✭
Okay, I've thought of a new movie for the game. Here we go:

Clue #1: The main character has an extraordinary ability.
  • letsgowithbobletsgowithbob Posts: 677 ✭✭
    deepthroat?
  • bigharpoonbigharpoon Posts: 2,962 ✭✭✭
    letsgowithbob:
    deepthroat?
LOL, technically correct...but not quite what I was thinking.
  • kaspera79kaspera79 Posts: 7,250 ✭✭✭
    How about The Dead Zone.
  • bigharpoonbigharpoon Posts: 2,962 ✭✭✭
Clue #2: This movie takes place in the 18th century.
  • bige1371bige1371 Posts: 196
Orson Welles The Man who saw tommorow.
  • bigharpoonbigharpoon Posts: 2,962 ✭✭✭
Clue #3: The main character is obsessed with creating something.
  • bigharpoonbigharpoon Posts: 2,962 ✭✭✭
No guesses? Let's narrow it down a little:

Clue #4: This movie takes place in France.
  • bige1371bige1371 Posts: 196
(extraordinary) League of Extraordinary gentlemen think that was an 18th century setting.
  • bigharpoonbigharpoon Posts: 2,962 ✭✭✭
    We need some more guesses!

Clue #5: A lot of people die in this movie. People who mistreat the main character suffer unfortunate karmic deaths soon after AND the main character has a habit of outright killing people.
