My Dad - My Absense

I had a few free moments so I thought I would pop in.
My dad recently was taken to the doctors because he wasn't feeling too well and had a really bloated stomach. After examination and cat scan it was determined he had a large mass on his liver. A biopsy was done and came back as inoperable liver cancer. Turns out the whole liver is just one big cancer. Well, on Sunday I visited and he looked like a different person. Sunday night he was admitted to the hospital and we were informed to think in matter of him being with us for a matter of days. He is at home and on comfort care so no meds except for Adavan and morphine for anxiety and discomfort. He hasn't eaten anything since Sunday and no liquids either. His kidneys are starting to shut down as is the rest of his body. He isn't in pain just has some discomfort.
It is the hardest thing I have had to endure in my life as it was just over two weeks ago he was up and about just being himself. Really has thrown me for a loop and am really still processing all that has happened in a very short time.
If, my family here, can send prayers for him to pass during his sleep that would be great. He is well past any chance of getting better so the best we can ask for is for his to pass swiftly and with as little discomfort as possible.
Thanks to all the support this forum has provided over the years.
I'll be back but just don't know when.

At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...
You know we're all here for you if you need anything.

It is still surreal that it was only 15 days ago that he went to the doctor and now is no longer with us. My pops and I ended every phone call or departure with an "I love you" but that only started as he got older. I think it's time to make sure those that I love hear those words everytime as you never know when you will see or talk to them again.
