Where would you vacation?

0patience0patience Posts: 10,665 ✭✭✭✭✭
Given a choice of anywhere in the US, where would you choose to take a vacation?

I like going to Vegas, but even that gets old.
I wouldn't mind going to New Orleans or back to Boston for a bit.
Momma wants me to take her to Kodiak, cause I've told her all about it.

Where else do you think is a great place to check out?

CUBA! Before it is officially open to tourists and they turn it in to Cancun.
I have not been there but would love to visit.

    That's a T-Bone.  A NY Strip Steak is a T-Bone with the bone removed.

Take the ferry from Anacortes, WA to Victoria, BC. After exploring Victoria (the museum of natural history is fantastic) head north up the east coast of Vancouver Island to Nanaimo. Then turn west completely across the island to the west coast.

At the village of Ucluelet there used to be an old steamship permanently anchored in the harbor. It was a floating hotel with a restaurant and a cocktail lounge. They also had a fleet of 40' boats that would take you on nature cruises, scuba diving, or fishing trips.

That part of the world is incredibly beautiful. If I had a chance to experience it again I most assuredly would....  B)

I probably should not respond to a post after drinking on the vherf. The question was where in the US.
After living in the desert, my choice is anywhere on a large body of water. Land between the lakes, Kentucky lake and Lake Barkley is blissful!

I am a huge fan of the Redwood Forrest. It smells incredible, and the scenery is amazing.

Ride Sopowa down the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Southern Utah National Park tour Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, and Moab to finish it off. Maybe even shoot down and see the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Other than these Blue Ridge Mountains I am inclined to favor the islands of the Greek coast. Be nice to experience the ruins of the temples.

I'd stay right here in WA and go into the Quinault Rain Forest for some great hiking and camping.
