Made more progress today. Got the 1/2" mdf for the back and cut to size. First coat of backside finish paint on. Also went and picked up the Spanish cedar. HOLY MOLY I was not expecting that. The big cost is the 3/4" boards I am going to use for the shelves. That is outrageous. But will be worth it in the end. Would have been nice if they had 1/2" but I will take what I can get. Whew. At least I know it will for sure hold its own weight across 3'
got he doors on and the hinges adjusted. Will def have to work on sealing those at the top, bottom, and both sides. Going to rip a pice of the 3/4" down and use that for the stops. Am kicking around a super custom idea and if I do it will be a surprise for you folks. Not sure exactly what the finish of it will look like if I do.Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!! It sounds like this piece is gaining weight and momentum every day.
You might need the whole Lou crew to move it!

Made a lot of good progress today. Got the shelvescut to size, got the doors on and adjusted, upper and lower door stops in, weather stripping on the vertical sides, magnetic door holders on top and bottom, got the back piece put on, and got the 45 degree pieces in the corners of the installed for the lights.
Not to get a hand planer layer to Plane down the shelves and the make aeration holes and then sanded. Need to get the 1/4 cedar for the back cut to size and installed. Then get the inside receptacle installed. I have the space between the 2 doors pretty tight so I am going to wait on a stop and sealing behind them to see how they do.
Decided to order new led tape lights rather than use what I have. I would have had to get more anyway. This stuff has multi color functionality and a remote so I don't need to install a switch. Waiting for this and the cedar trays I ordered to get in. Trays will be here Monday. Getting close gents. Then it's seasoning time.Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!! It won't swell much. Really only concerned about the shelves since they have the most mass as far as the cedar goes. The back is just 1/4" (milled thickness is around 3/16"). That will not swell much.Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!! Oh when the Blues, Oh when the Blues, Oh when the Blues go marching in! 1

I wouldn't think more than 1/8 inch at the most0

Back pieces are in, glued and nailed. Got the three top shelves planed down and aeration holes drilled. Now just need to sand them and they are complete. Have 4 more shelves to go. Planing those with a hand planer is a royal mess but does look better than sticking a piece on the front for a lip. Lights and trays are on the way. Should have this thing in seasoning mode before too long here.

I hope that's enough holes for air movement. Of course, 300 cigars will cover them anyways lol

It should be. I also allowed for space in the front and the back for air movement.Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!! Oh when the Blues, Oh when the Blues, Oh when the Blues go marching in! 0

Do you think that some half circles cut into the sides would allow more air movement?Logistics cannot win a war, but its absence or inadequacy can cause defeat. FM100-50
