The magna is working great and the unit recovers from the doors being opened quickly. I would say within 5 minutes. Got the wifi module on her and it's awesome. Can track temp and humidity. Seems like one of the first things I do when I wake up is check to make sure everything is good. So far have not had a problem.

@matkn293 you have a nicer and larger selection than a cigar bar I was in last Saturday.  Very well done

Show us what it looks like now.  Is it holding humidity well?

So I was browsing through humidity in the search bar related to my cooler being like 10 rh different in the bottom and top and...wow... This is unbelievably epic. Seeing this built from beginning to end was something else. Unbelievably cool.

Thank you for the kind words.

Lol nope that's ash that I haven't washed off. I hope to do something like that one day, but I don't know anything about woodworking. I've been looking at used humidors for a while trying to find something that strikes my fancy. I've also got my eye on a few new ones I may just pull the trigger on. This though, because you built it yourself, is drastically more cool. I bet that every time someone asks you where you got that, and you tell them that you built it, you stand up a little straighter.

That is really really nice. I can't even do a single shelf to display my Sonic Screwdrivers.

in the middle of a medium size custom cabinet build currently. joined up to browse the forum here. couple of questions for you, (i did not see them answered above as i browsed the 6 pages here), how often do you have to refill your magna? looking at the unit online i see a varying refill time, from every 2 weeks to once every 3 months. wondering if the size of the cabinet and/or the amount of cigars effects the refill rate. also, what kind of weather stripping did you use to seal the doors? any issues with the seal, loss of humidity?

@matkn293 hasn't been around for a couple years but if you are patient he may stop in. I would think your refill times would be dependant on weather conditions and the seal on the humi

    One thing to note...
Be strategic where you place your magna for a couple reasons. A. for humidity dispersion. The bottom is not the most ideal in a taller cabinet. Middle would be best or have decent fans running to circulate. Also keep mind of what you are putting around the magna. Loose non-wrapped cigars are subject to mold. Even wrapped cigars can be subject if they are directly over the magna due to the higher humidity coming out of the unit to stabilize the whole cabinet. I actually leave the area directly over the magna open for this reason.
