I'm a big believer in fossil fuels carrying the bulk of electrical supply, I know it's not politically correct, but I like the furnace/ac to come on when I turn the switch, not just when the wind is blowing or the sun is shining. I have solar panels in AZ and if they aren't economically feasible here without government subsidies then they probably aren't anywhere.
