Artificial general intelligence could arrive far sooner than expected and will utterly transform human society, leading researchers argued. Google DeepMind released a report on AGI safety this week, noting that AI that outperforms humans could arrive before 2030, accelerated by AI’s own improvement at automating R&D. It argued that if AI’s values do not match humanity’s — or if the technology is misused — AI could have “catastrophic outcomes.” Meanwhile a former OpenAI researcher behind a prescient post in 2021 which foresaw much of AI development up to now published a major piece suggesting that superintelligence could arrive within three years, with a China-US arms race imperiling human civilization.

It’s challenging to try and convey emotions, feelings and internal viewpoints typed out for the intended recipient and/or the world. I have yet to see anyone change another’s views with typed words on the internet, no matter the intent of the author.

Smokingpipes shipped my order out of SC to MA this past Monday.
Post Office delivery estimate Friday night April 4th by 9. Fair, but not great.
Two hours before estimated delivery, package hadn't arrived at the regional facility much less my local post office. What in Gods name makes them still think it will make it to me in 2 hours, but system still says by 9pm....
Package arrived at the regional facility at 4:40 am today, Saturday April 5 with no update as to new estimated delivery. 40 hours to get from NJ to MA.
I say piss poor performance and shi##y tracking system.

This is why I never turn on my Wineador.... rapid temp and RH swing. Also, the cigars, the more you have, will act as insulators as well. Don't leave a cooler empty.

In warmer climates it can start that way but eventually it will equalize. Just takes longer.

The taking longer is the benefit. If your cigars are going to go through changes in temp or humidity, the slower they do it the better. Rapid temp changes can make oils in the tobacco rise to the surface and then be expelled either through evaporation or by latching onto something like cello. Brown cello isn’t really a good thing…especially if it’s a cigar that’s only a couple years old.
