As much work as you do outside, I think this would be a great match for you.
Personally, I don’t have any worries about dropping, leaving outside, forgetting to clean, etc etc a $10-$20 pipe as I would one of my nicer pipes.

I dropped a cob into a walnut hulling machine last week. Ran completely thru, stem looks like it's been tooth bit all over, stummel separated from the bowl. The bowl was pretty green from the hulls and the stummel was lightly brown. However a week later the bowl has taken a little brown stain that matches the stummel. Some Elmer's glue and a little sanding/polishing, it'll be good as new. I knew there was a reason to have "work' pipes.
