Re: Whatcha smokin this morning?
Same distrust here. I was once sent to a podiatrist that told me he needed to order this and that for me and that of course my insurance would cover it. Of course I hadn’t even taken a shoe off yet. I went back to the desk and got my copayment back and dared them to bill my insurance for the visit because I would be contacting them about the fraud.

@Amos_Umwhat LMK what you think of the deception pass…I’m smoking that tomorrow for the first time. Thanks Steve.I've thought long about the Deception Pass. SPC's info indicates that this was a place where Joe Lankford liked to smoke and reflect on things, etc. While it's not at all bad tobacco, I wonder.
I read some reviews which varied greatly in their appreciation. It occurs to me that the "Deception" might be that it isn't a blend at all, but rather the tail ends of other blends mixed together and called a blend.
Just a thought. Perhaps they meant it as a "blend", but it reminds me of what I put into my carry pouches for motorcycle rides, the leftovers from blends that are almost gone.
How did you like it, Jeff?
First off, the physical place of Deception Pass is one of the most beautiful, pristine and breathtaking places in Washington state. One of my favorites. As far as the tobacco, I’ve tried it twice now, with two different tasting experiences. I will smoke again this weekend and get back to you.

Lol, I didn't doubt the existence of the Pass, sorry if I gave that impression, just the use of the name.
I went through Washington state with my family when I was young, about 12 years old. I have always meant to get back to it. It reminded me very much of where we'd been living in southern Alaska. I miss that part of the world sometimes.
If what I see on documentaries is realistic I'm afraid that returning will not live up to the memory. This happened to me with Cimarron and Raton pass. After having told my wife of the pristine wonders we headed there, about 25 years after my time there. Not the same experience at all. You can't go back to where you were then, because now is now.
