Re: What is in your pipe?
Really, more the time I think. I can't rule out changing tastes, but I think the "melding" of flavors, as well as just the mellowing of time are probably the greatest factors.
Additional comment, it seems sweeter, now. Perhaps over time the carbohydrates in the plant material change from more starch into more sugar? Just a thought.

Pipe is Stanwell, Royal Danish, shape 118. I didn't really care for this Father Dempsey when I first opened it a couple years ago, but now I'm enjoying it greatly. Funny how that works.
Do you think it’s because the time allowed the flavors to meld together better or that your tastes have changed?

Re: Constant order issues
partly the postal system, partly the retailer's choice of shipping. I don't think this issue can be resolved without choosing a different retailer. Sad but true.
Re: Constant order issues
Some retailers only ship on certain days. If your timing is off it can take a bit before it ships out.
There are a couple retailers who have some pretty hard to get items that you just go into it knowing if you want those cigars, that’s just part of the deal.
I personally don’t sweat it. As long as they shipped reasonably well I don’t even think about it.
Seems I am always waiting on something.

@Hawks how did you come up with this concoction? Do you have
I'm loving the DFK but wanted a touch of vanilla with it the other day. ODF and 1792 are great by themselves but I was hoping the 1792 wouldn't over power. Then I doubled the recipe.

Re: Spain
Spain leads Europe in cigar smoking.
Here's a import value ranking from a UN study from 2021. (I couldn't find anything more recent)
UNITED STATES – $1.5 billion
JAPAN – $154 million
SPAIN – $148.39 million
THE NETHERLANDS – $118 million
CHINA – $110 million
SWITZERLAND – $66 million
UNITED KINGDOM – $52 million
CANADA – $37.84 million
SERBIA – $29 million

Re: STG acquires Mac Baren
An interesting read from Ernie and Watch City Cigar, he uses a lot of Sutliff tobacco to make his blends.
