Ditch this and get a burr grinder and it will be a huge improvement to your ground consistency. Digital scale (essential) and a goose neck kettle helps.

I'm an English teacher and I teach argumentation. Discourse is a skill that young adults need. I let them choose their own topics (minus my banned topic list) and sides. Then I make them also argue the other side 🙈

Seriously you're right. There is no swaying of the minds. There is no indoctrination into Fringe socialistic principles. Kids think adults don't know anything. They will soon own the world and we will soon not be able to do a damn thing about it.

Every field, even science and mathematics, is chock full of opposing viewpoints, all of which should be explored. Education is the enemy of oppression, and fearing or banning topics threatens the American way of life. I'm sure the fringe on both sides would disagree with this. Fuçk the fringe.

Exposing young minds to multiple viewpoints is essential to learning and preserving freedom.

I would love to see those lesson plans, formative and summative tests, homework assignments, class participation grades, and the resulting psychoanalysis of the children who were subjected to those lesson plans to determine how much their political leanings moved, as to judge the effectiveness of those lessons.

Lesson plans vary among schools and school districts, and to be honest may have little to do with what is going on in the rooms. More and more schools and school districts rely on homework, many can to even give a grade on it. In todays world homework may show nothing of what the child/student is really doing. As far as grades the vast majority of the time a completely arbitrary. Tests are not what they were intended for. Originally tests were used to give the teacher an idea of how well they covered the material. This can be shown by state tests. Many states were shoked when they first started testing and seen how low test result came out, this has lead to many changes in the tests. Interesting article were mentioned in the Wall Street Journal over the year.

In my district, the sixth (I think?) largest in the country, lesson plans must be submitted and both formative and summative tests issued. We also have no textbooks and very little homework.

Actually stated from someone with over 30 years in a classroom. Didn't even mention how the majority of schools that are union ask and collect money from teachers to donate to folks running for office. Shocking, yet I can only remember folks in 1 of the parties getting it.

The looking at kids pubes is a great distraction for weak logic.

Lesson plans in some places are incredibly detailed with times, curriculum, material, and what will take place for those that didn't get it. State standards may also be asked. Some have no lesson plans and others a simple list of items to be covered .

More and more places are not single text books.

Formative and summative test are like anything else. A person can teach to a test, but does it really help?
