Welcome aboard. With you being new to cigars, I’m curious of your process as to how you decide what cigars are going to compliment what you’re drinking.
I am very familiar with the whiskey pallets, so when I choose a pour I look for tasting notes on cigars that I think will compliment it best (if it is a cigar I have not had)
For instance if I am going to drink a lower proof bourbon that is vanilla forward with some baking spices but is thin then I want a cigar that is mild body but creamy with some nuttiness or woodiness to enhance the mouthfeel experience and compliment that baking spice.
So I go off my whiskey knowledge and rely on tasting notes I look up Unless it is a cigar I have had.
Welcome Todd. Much like varying rye/bourbon palates the same holds true for cigar/pipe tobacco palates. I’m sure reading someone else’s cliff notes about a cigar is taken with the same grain of salt as a reviewer of spirits.
There are plenty of knowledgeable cigar knowledge and spirits connoisseurs here that may have some insight into what cigar blends possibly pairs with what.
Good luck. I hope you find something useful and of interest to you on this forum.
Again, welcome.
Re: Aromatic sampler pass.
Probably. I feel like I’ve been smoking about any available time I have over the last month or so. I gotta start smoking those suckers down faster haha I am a super slow smoker.

So I'm getting a new cooler on monday.
To clean it, do I use alchohol or should I use baking soda?
Also how do I season a cooler?
Last time I'd just put a bowl water in it. It hit 80% pretty fast.I think you may be overthinking this thing. Coolers do not require seasoning, as there is no moisture absorption by the plastic medium. Wash it out, dry it well, and use sufficient Boveda packs to humidify X number of cigars. All done.
Me, personally, I use food grade plastic containers with a Boveda in each and put those in the cooler. If you're not doing this, you may wish to use sticks of Spanish Cedar (mahogany) as spacers for air circulation in the cooler.
Its for boxes.
I was thinking about putting it in ziplock with a boveda. Then in the cooler.
