So I think I figured out how to do it, but now the tricky part is trying to see if there is a batched way to do the fix, otherwise this may take awhile. 
Either way, you'll start seeing the "Question" badge disappear from the threads; I also triple-checked that setting wasn't in play, so let me know if new threads pop up with that weird badge or not because I may have to enter a tech ticket anyway.
