I used to work with a guy who went through that all the time. Seemed like every other person who came through would ask him "So, how's ......., what's she doing these days?" One day he broke and said "Pushing up daisies for all I know, we've been divorced for 10 years, give me a break."

I guess that word got around, because inquiries decidedly lessened after that.
