What did you think? I have been itching to pull the trigger on these since they were released.
I'd recommend it, I think I smoked all but 1 or 2 out of the five i bought and am planning on getting more. Really good stick.
Did a review on this one myself earlier this year should be up in my review thread if you want a detailed account of it. Suffice to say that for me the first inch and a half was very flat and one dimensional but after that and for the remainder of the cigar it was absolutely outstanding. Very complex with overall good balance and some unique wood and spice notes with a bit of leather. Loved it once I got past the initial flavorlessness that was present.

Some cigar enthusiasts and Soldiers smoked an Obsidian Robusto, a very dark and oily wrapper with lots of veins. Initial impressions were dark chocolate with a hint of spice. The cigar remained well rounded and full of flavor. Courtesy of www.soldiersandcigars.org

Today was a Padilla Dominus Churchill that has been in my humidor for at least three years. I was hesitant about smoking it since they are no longer made, but they are meant to be smoked (and I have one more!) This one really grew up nicely, A nice mild woody flavor, with hints of cinnamon and coffee, a peppery retrohale which was pleasant when controlled. Gonna let the last one rest another year and see how much better it can possibly get. I'd suggest getting some but they are long gone everywhere I looked.
Sam Leccia Black Robusto. Very interesting taste with the smokey fire cured tobacco. Nothing like the smokiness from the Pennsylvania Broadlead. That's more of a faint smokiness in the background. The Black is a lot heavier on the palate. I'd say that it's almost salty when retrohaling with the smoke lingering on the palate for the whole cigar.
I wonder what this would be like with some nice Islay scotch.
