I had A little set back today. We had four of our granddaughters over for the day. A truly great day but my work on the cane suffered. May be tomorrow with A little luck...........

Family always comes first, brother. I'm glad to hear you had fun with the grand-daughters! Like I said, no rush...
Work has been painfully slow on the cane. Fishing has A way of getting in my way but I have made progress.
Speechless, absolutely speechless... Rodney, brother, the cane is phenomenal! I don't think I could ever explain how special this project is to me. You are a true brother, in every sense of the word.

All that I have left to do is sanding and detail work on the cane. I will not post photos from this point on so that the final appearance will be seen by Toombes before anyone else.
Thanks brother... Here is a link to some of my woodworking stuff (click the picture)
That's some awesome work, brother! I've been toying with the idea of building a guitar for myself, but haven't been able to come up with the much needed time. Keep up the good work!
Dang brother, that is some awesome work. I love the box you made for the wife. What does something like that take for you time-wise?
Far as the box construction it took maybe a day... to sand the organic shapes into it, maybe another 3 days or so... It would have gone quicker if I had a grinder with a sanding disc attachment, but at the time I only had an orbital sander.

I wasn't sure I would ever be able to again so I couldn't be happier. You should give it another try. It's the most relaxing pass-time I can think of.

Your welcome. :-)
Hopefully I'll get to carve on the cane tomorrow. I feel almost human today. :-)
