It's true, you don't hold it by the bowl. It doesn't impart flavor to the tobacco, gives you a good taste. This one needs a long pipe cleaner because of the long stem.

After I finished ODF, I took out a flake of Samuel Gawith Brown Sugar Flake to dry in a bowl on my coffee cup warmer while depositing some checks. I got distracted and dried it more than I planned, only remembering when I got a whiff of the warm flakes aroma. The dry flakes really bring out the spicy Oriental leaf flavors, minimizing the sweet flavor notes. Smoked in my Kriswill Bernadotte chimney.

@Rdp77 , Rusty gifted me this bag of awesome smelling pipe tobacco at the Mule Town Herf yesterday, going to try it out in the Stanwell 2022 Pipe of the Year. First taste is great!

Here's a picture of my carburetor pipe topper that came from a coffee tool. I use this to control the airflow to keep the tobacco smoldering for best flavor without going out all the time by lifting up one side to let air in. A thumb works too.

Ken Byron Burley Morning Pipe in my new Davorin morta rhodesian. I haven't noticed the pipe contributing any flavors to the tobacco on these first few smokes.

I did indeed. The Zombie English was good, but this stuff is exactly what I like.

Smoking some Samuel Gawith Brown Sugar Flake in my Savinelli 619 EX Hercules panel pipe.
Found this extra thick, jerky sized flake in the tin, I guess I'll have to rub this one out to smoke it.
