Thanks, Chris, interesting read. One thing he didn't mention is the difference between block meerschaum and pressed meerschaum. I suspect, but do not know for certain, that the bowls for most metal pipes are of the pressed variety.
An old Guildhall ^. That old English wood smokes well and I like most of the Comoy shapes, have 5 or 6 of them. They were a good deal a while ago on the ebay estate market at 15-20 dollars each.

That is a great patina!! This was the pipes second...maybe third bowl, lol.

I liked the Pembroke. I think it is a little heavy on the cognac, but not overpowering.
Last night I tried the Shortcut to Mushrooms and really enjoyed that too.

Today I'm smoking some of the River of Deceit Ken Byron blend you sent in my Falcon. A nice VA blend, very tasty too.

It's my first pipe I bought. I really like the bowl shape...Wide and deep and smokes nice and cool. Got it from someone on another form for around $25
Might as well keep the bowl rolling....My mix of Virginia Flake and Plum Pudding in a Meerschaum Cob.
