It was a treat, I'd say both, I picked up a Falcon kit that came with 50 grams of the Ltd Bright Star: Bright Star uses vintage McClelland Bright Virginia, Balkan Orientals, Red & Stoved Virginia, and Perique.

Not sure it will be offered again.

Gawith and Hoggarth Coniston Cut Plug in my MM Morgan cob with black coffee to pair. I bagged up my recent G&H tobacco purchases in small Mylar bags and even though this should contain the aroma I put the more fragrant blends redolent with Lakeland sauce, the Ennerdale Flake, Coniston Cut Plug and Kendal Flake, in their own bag. I'll be dedicating a pipe or two to these tobaccos too.

This may be a very silly question but is that some jerky in your caddy or is that the tobacco?

That's dried flake tobacco which has been compressed so that it has strong flavors and burns slowly, perfect for a small bowl. Virginia flake tobacco is very tasty, but a bit more challenging to smoke. There's a good thread on it on PSD here: https://pipesmokersdens.com/threads/smoking-pressed-tobacco-flakes-plugs-twists-and-kakes.8621/

Would you care to trade some Edward? Being late to the pipe community I never had a chance to try it

Sure, I'll send you a sampler, it is not to be missed, a wonderful sweet and spicy red VA. But you have to promise not to engage in retribution. My wife says she will personally come out there and kick your ass if I get more tobacco. 🤕

She means pipe tobacco...right? Asking for a friend.

Yesterday I finished the last of my 2014 Dunhill Early Morning Pipe in one of my Chacom billiards. I really enjoyed this tobacco blend, it had dried out a bit over the years and was smoking great.

Today I cracked a new tin of GL Pease Chelsea Morning which I picked as a replacement. I dried a bowls worth of tobacco to smoke in my other Chacom today to see how it compared. It's described as a ribbon, but was thicker than the EMP, not quite a broken flake but thicker than a ribbon.

I really enjoyed the Chelsea Morning, in the same vein as the EMP, a worthy replacement.

I have a couple pipes and a ton of tobacco from Stubble a few years back. I just need to smoke more of it.
