last night the wife and i had a bottle of Ruffino's Lumina wine with dinner. this is a Pinot Grigio from the Venezia Giulia region of Italy. It paired well with the seared chicken with a lemon caper sauce we made for dinner. the only side was a giant salad with 6 types of greens (including arugula, romaine, and dandelions), snap peas, and every other fresh veggie we could get our hands on.
Two nights ago my fiance and I had a few glasses of Thumbprint Climax (blended red wine from CA. Highly recommend anything from Thumbprint, but especially the reds...). Last night it was a few New Belgium Hoptobers over dinner. Love that beer.
Manhattans....one too many actually. Found if you swap the aromatic bitters for orange bitters, it's really good.
Orange bitters play nicely with Rye and Bourbon but would work great in a Cuban Manhattan (substitute the whiskey for dark, aged Rum). I'm in the process of working some home made orange bitters myself.
so why I am not into fruity drinks, gf and i went to a mexican place and a pomagranit mojito caught my eye....i orderd it cuz I love pom juice...got to say, it was bomb....i wil make these at home for now on....but the chili reeno's were freaking bomb!
22oz Smuttynose Imperial Stout with a Cain Nub Habano 460. not bad.
Much respect for imperial stout! Started tonight with buffalo bills pumpkin ale, I missed all the seasonals last year so I'm gonna hit em all this year... It's ok, kinda overpowered by a clove type flavor. Finished with Sierra Nevada 30th anniversary brew....Phucking EPIC beer!!! Run, don't walk to get this stuff, I tried some tonight and am going to buy a case tomorrow, quantites pretty limited

Now... how to get her to think it's a good idea to go outside and sit next to me while I smoke!
I will be enjoying some Guinness 2nite..I was on call the past 7 days and unable to enjoy any alcholic beverages..I will be making up for lost time this week im sure.
drank like a fish at the SE herf, had several Woodchuck's on tap something called a Snake Bite which is Guiness on top of Woodchuck, and some local ATL beer I think was called Red Fox

I find this is a good beer with a cigar... Too bad no Cigar tonight
