I think I will grow really old and die looking for the stuff in TN.
If you're ever anywhere near memphis then i can tell you plenty of places to go for pho
Sometime in the next 3 months I will be going to Memphis to visit a couple of stores I miss from N Va. and I will be in touch with you. mostly Trader Joes and other beer joints.
LOL, bound to happen bro! Im a straight pho ho...ive hade every one here in town, most of them in fresno and everytime i travel i seek out a vietnamese place to try theirs, really no two alike!
I hunt down Vietnamese restaurants everywhere I go. Specially in Irvine.
There is an AMAZING Pho restaurant in Lake Forest, "Thanh Binh II" right next to the 5 Freeway, off of Bake and Rockfield.... I've gone to most of them in the area and this is the best...
My buddy's wife is from Vietnam. Her brothers say Pho at almost every restaurant is terrible compared to authenticate Pho made from the real stuff at home. Is this true?
I can some what understand. At their house it was like heaven, the best I've ever had.
That next week I went to a Vietnamese restaurant and it was rice noodles water and some bean sprouts....yuk!
When i served in Vietnam in 1966-1967 all I ate was C-Rations. About 20 years ago i had my first bowl of Pho and fresh spring rolls in a little Vietnamese restaurant. I now make it at home with basil and cilantro from our garden. I buy the other ingredients from a great little Asian store in Asheville.

One thing I really miss are the Asian stores since I moved.
I'm lucky because I'm surrounded by Pho places, there's three Pho places within a mile of my school.
Super lucky! All we have is fusion places here unless I go to Albany.no food is worth it lol.ima country boy.any food here that i dont have to grow is half hour at least from my property. .its good and bad .
I love my pack and a good community (cigars/Vape) "I'm at the point in my life where if it doesn't taste good,I'm not putting it in my mouth"
Lately I've been using the ramen type packages i get at our Asian grocery to start my Pho. The packages have rice noodles and my favorite bean thread noodles. Put some water in a pot, add some veggies, the flavor packets, some meat, some basil and the noodles. Three minutes later you got Pho. Float some hot sesame oil on top and dig in.
