Had a coconut cream pie stout on vacation that was great but the waiter said he had not idea who made it. He said the bar tender said he thought was from Nevada but wasnt sure.
Craft brewers are falling in love with genetically-modified yeast strains that help them inject new creativity and flavor into beers, including bursts of pineapple and guava.
Great, but what if I LIKE beer? Real beer that tastes like, well, beer? Places that used to have great selections of good beer have now filled 4 out of 5 coolers with kinder-beer. Kinky lemonade, NOT your father's Root Beer, etc.
Not all of us want the little pink umbrella beer. Some of us were attuned to the flavors provided by Barley malt, hops, water and yeast. Now they're fvcking with the yeast.
What's next? Fried Chicken Beer? Pineapple upside-down cake beer? Or does that already exist?
Bleah.
Rant over, for now.
