The Band is Pinmonkey. The song is Barbed Wire and Roses. I saw them in a very small bar in Chicago. Great dobro player! Will have to try something easier next time.
Friends don't let good friends smoke cheap cigars.
Wouldn't have guessed that in a million years. Cool song, though.
"When I have found intense pain relieved, a weary brain soothed, and calm, refreshing sleep obtained by a cigar, I have felt grateful to God, and have blessed His name." - Charles Haddon Spurgeon

@Guitarded is paying for me to start this back up..... ok! I’ll post a clue everyday till someone gets it. I know Nick said we can tweak it as it goes so I’m going to switch it up a little so googling can’t really help you at the start.
The group was formed in the early 90s. This song was off their second CD.

I know ...... I have been thinking. It usually gets me in trouble.
Genre: Country
Give me the band name and the 1 song they did that made it to 25 on the top 40 list in 2003.
Clue #1. The name of the band was taken from a Simpsons episode.
Clue #2. On the same release they covered a Roy Orbison song, and Dolly Parton sang harmony on another.
Clue #3. The dobro player also played with Keith Urban on the road. The drummer played with Vince Gill in Pure Prarie League.
The Simpsons episode was And Maggie Makes Three if that helps.
At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...
Clue # 4. The song title is about 2 things. One is beautiful, but both can be painful to touch.
Clue #5. Last one before we start a new one. The bands name is one word and they are from Nashville Tn.

Why did this die on the vine?
Because it can be crazy hard? The internet is stronger now than 2016... so maybe fair game ...
