Couldn't decide whether to put this in politics or here but it is just a costly mess with a costly fix, throw in some crony capitalism:
WASHINGTON, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Donald Trump's Navy and Air Force are poised to cancel two nearly complete software projects that took 12 years and well over $800 million combined to develop, work initially aimed at overhauling antiquated human resources systems.
The reason for the unusual move: officials at those departments, who have so far put the existing projects on hold, want other firms, including Salesforce and billionaire Peter Thiel's Palantir, to have a chance to win similar projects, which could amount to a costly do-over, according to seven sources familiar with the matter.2 -

Therapists are secretly using ChatGPT. Clients are triggered.
Declan would never have found out his therapist was using ChatGPT had it not been for a technical mishap. The connection was patchy during one of their online sessions, so Declan suggested they turn off their video feeds. Instead, his therapist began inadvertently sharing his screen. For the rest of the session, Declan was privy to a real-time stream of ChatGPT analysis rippling across his therapist’s screen, who was taking what Declan was saying, putting it into ChatGPT, and then parroting its answers.
But Declan is not alone. In fact, a growing number of people are reporting receiving AI-generated communiqués from their therapists. Clients’ trust and privacy are being abandoned in the process.

Mine WTF too. This is a perfect example of the nefarious 💩 people will engage a platform that ‘could’ and should be used for… insert any good reason or idea.
I think the general population will get lazier and dumbed down more as they use the platform instead of their brain, education, training and etc etc.

An AI podcast company is releasing 3,000 new episodes a week, all generated in about an hour for $1 a go. Inception Point AI has seen more than 10 million downloads since September 2023, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It has about 50 AI personalities, including the nominatively determined nature-show host Nigel Thistledown and food expert Claire Delish. Each episode takes a fraction of the time a human-produced podcast does to make, and as long as 20 people listen to each one, it turns a profit. CEO Jeanine Wright, former head of Amazon’s podcast division, said people calling it AI slop “are probably lazy luddites” and that “in the near future half the people on the planet will be AI.”3 -

Was just about to post this one myself lol. The funny part is that they claim it to be “incorruptible”, yet it was programmed by a person to do what a person wants. Was said person corruptible?
