“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)
we had 1/2" of snow in some towns, they closed the schools for a half day. 1/2"....
Used to be the same way in the Seattle area. 1/2” of snow would cause a panic - closed schools, etc.
My child bride and I were transferred from Seattle to a project in Colorado. We lived in a town at 7600’ ASL. We transferred in December of that year so during the day while I was at work, Barb took our car out to practice skids, turns, and other exciting maneuvers. Didn’t get much of that kind of driving back in Seattle.... 🤓
@Sleddog46, wood heat mostly. Runs me about 3 bucks a cord (minus sweat equity) & I use 3 to 3 1/2 cords a season. Oil fired boiler runs 3 bucks a gallon. It fires a couple times a day.
I'm still troubled by what I did for that Klondike bar...
