We got somewhere around a foot of wet/heavy snow... broke a couple good sized branches on my crabapple tree. If I ever get sick of living all I have to do is wait for one of these snowstorms and go out and shovel some of it.
A headline on Accuweather just now; "Pipe-bursting cold, snow and ice threat to reach into the South
The coldest weather since late 2022 is on the way to the Southern Plains and Southeast in the coming days, and it will be accompanied by the season's first winter storm."
Since it was less than a month ago that it was late 2023, why should it be so astounding that the cold weather in place now is the coldest weather since late 2022?
The idiots that write these overblown headlines must think we're all idiots like them.

Nothing stuck to the ground yesterday but they sure did lay down a butt-load of salt. Clouds of salt dust whenever a car drives by. You can taste the salt in the air.

Only got about 3" of snow here, plenty cold though. Went for a little walk, until my fingers got too cold.
It's hard to tell, but a thin layer of ice on the watershed.

Happy to see the afternoon temperatures will be way up in the thirties.
Stayed home since Monday. Work has been cancelled day by day. Highs only in the teens Mon and Tue. I’m dripping the indoor faucets on the north side of the house. Accumulation on my patio table looks like 5-6”, not sure what the official total snowfall was but Nashville is claiming 6.3”.
I noticed this morning that the kids across the street made snow forts. I never heard them playing. Maybe by the time they got them built they were too cold to throw snowballs.
Plowed yesterday. Got about 3" but it turned to rain near the end. The last location I did was pushing about 2" of watery slush around. Doesn't plow very well, even with a V plow.

The 12"+ we got Fri. and Sat. was the wet, packing snow, that clings to everything and coats the trees to create that winter wonderland look. Normally, when it's warm enough for that type of snowfall, the snow on the trees is short-lived and gone in a day or less. This time, it turned bitter cold Sat. night, so everything froze in place and the trees are still coated, four days out. Add in the fact that the high-pressure system that ushered in the cold has given us clear blue skies all week, and it's gorgeous. Some of the snow on the trees has (through some mechanism unknown to me) turned to ice and with the bright sun, we have a beautiful, bedazzled world.
It's still colder than I want to subject myself to, so this shot out my front window will have to do, even though it isn't close to what it actually looks like.

I've had the water dripping the last 3 days, probably got 3 more to go. Currently -1 and a light dry snow falling.

Cold enough to stop a Tesla from charging.
raining on top of a couple of inches of snow, what doesn't melt will be ice by tomorrow morning,
Eight inches of wet snow will be a solid block of ice by morning.

Hitting the same warming trend as @Bob_Luken, but we only got a little over an inch of snow.

4 to 8 more inches over the next day or so and 0 degrees at night and low single digits durning the day. Yes, I live in the South.
We got snow on the mountains where it belongs.
Much warmer than the last 2 weeks but very foggy this morning.

Looks like the deep freeze has broken. Ice everywhere and walking is a chore. Highs in the low 40's lows mid 30's. Getting rain now with ground fog.
The rain has started and is expected to last until Monday afternoon.
@Yakster , hope you have some high ground. Be safe.
