I was being sarcastic. Less than 300 murders in NY, which has the strictest gun laws of all those cities.jd50ae said:

I guess you are all lucky then, since you won't be executed by your peers.

Be careful, if you do it then everyone is going to bomb you as a thank you, and that can get annoying to deal with.BadSneakers said:

This took 5 seconds to research and find false. Fact check your memes, people.

I find this to be generally true, with rare exceptions. Often, even when aware of the facts, people are reluctant to accept them or to stand up for them.silvermouse said:people don't care about facts
I have found myself recently in the surprising position of supporting Donald Trump and agreeing with Mitch McConnell. This has come about from watching the impeachment hearings during which the Democrats played fast and loose with the facts, along with totally ignoring small things like, but not limited to, the law, their own rules of engagement, moral ethical consideration, and common sense, etc.
Many of you may remember a few years back when I was virtually the only person on the forum who defended Barack Obama against the lunatic ravings of the Far Right. All sorts of nonsense was thrown at him, for instance the "Birthers" accusations that he'd been born in Kenya. One of the loudest voices in the cacaphony was that of one Donald Trump.
I did not vote for either of them.
I say all this because I think that we should all adhere to the truth, as best we can discern it amidst the madness, and to the solid principles upon which our country was founded. Even though they've often been misread and misrepresented. Seek still the truth.
Between Trump and Obama, I believe B. O. to be the better person. Which is the better President? I'm not sure. One thing I do know for sure is that neither of them are perfect. Nor shall we ever elect a President who is. Although we may from time to time elect one who thinks he or she is.
Sorry that this is the wrong thread for this commentary, but @silvermouse inspired me with that comment.
It's all his fault.
He was born on Mars, you know.
