My Daughter and Grandchildren are coming up from Florida in March for a visit. I was talking on the phone last night with my oldest Grandson, Thiago, who is 8 years old. He wants to learn to shoot, so we will go to the range while they are here for his first shooting experience. I told him I will write him a letter (since he is getting better at reading) listing the four Fundamental Rules of Firearm Safety, so he can begin to absorb them prior to visiting. I will also encourage him in the letter to think about responsibility and obedience prior to the event.

Super awesome!! But don’t forget about the fifth fundamental rule….
Rule 5…never let the government take away your pew pews.

That'll be saved for when the first four are ingrained.

No.. No WTF.... Let's try and not make everything a political statement. Let the guy have his family moment. He didn't bring up gun rights, neither should we.

No political statement here. He certainly brought up the four universal fundamentals of firearm safety he wanted to instill with his grandson. I simply mentioned the fifth. Geezus Boston settle down. Your eagerness to troll others has set your own pants on fire.

There is no 5th rule in the 3-4 Rules of Fire Arm Safety.... but you knew that if you took Fire Arm Safety Courses.
How come you, @Vision get to say things that can be easily misconstrued as political, and when called out on it, you get to say 'that was never meant to be political' and we're supposed to take you at your word, and believe it, but when @OutdoorsSmoke_21191 says it was never meant to be political you won't take him at his word and believe it?
Maybe your last post was tongue-in-cheek, and you were just ribbing him?

It was. And I was waiting for your follow up post to our posts. I actually had your post (on the Tequila bottle) screen shot, circled it, and wrote THIS but figured "Peter will reply anyhow". Why in the world would you think I would be serious? I got @OutdoorsSmoke_21191 and @peter4jc in one post..... but.... I really got Jeff as he probably assumes I've never been taught the 4 Key....
@Vision negative ghostrider. However, your initial response (one I did not take seriously but caught the underlying tone) could be construed as an emotional triggered reaction. Let’s be clear….
1. I know you know the four rules of firearm safety because we’ve discussed in the past. I’m acutely aware of your stance. Again, we have discussed.
2. Most people who regularly train or participate within the firearm community are well aware the fifth rule is not an ‘official’ rule but rather a joke with seriousness undertones.
3. As we’ve discussed before nothing you say will ever upset me unless you bring my family into it.

Going to my favorite B&M today to try out and participate in their ‘pipe club’.
Sooooo, how'd it go?
It was very cool. Several people and many types of tobacco were brought by all to share with everyone. Great conversations, interesting people with interesting backgrounds, cool pipes, tried some new to me tobacco (burley, English, oh and I was lucky enough to try some frog morton), pastries, whiskey, scotch, bourbon, cigars, etc. I learned something interesting about ’some’ meerschaums…the ones that have a threaded insert (unknown to me) the stem needs to be removed clockwise. Lastly, unfortunately for them, I fit in too well and was invited back. I didn’t even tell the bandaid story. Overall, it was fun and assuredly, I will go back again.
I've heard that for briar pipes, because of the direction that the stummel is drilled, you should always remove and install the stems by rotating clockwise as well, basically in the direction that it was drilled instead of against it.

Soon as the weather lets me I'll crank up a saw and clean it up.

Pulled the tires off the bike as the replacements have arrived. I really need to keep a better eye on those.

Oh and to the @Family .... NEVAH!
Oh, I wasn't serious. So there.

I heard he confused B&M with S&M and the pipes being smoked.... weren't tobacco. @OutdoorsSmoke_21191 any truth to this?
