I gave my 3 weeks notice today at work. What started many years ago as a hobby, slowly turned into a secret side hustle, and since then has grown and grown into what will now be my full time job. Here's an interview I did a few months ago about it. It is funny, the stereotypes that come out of now being a cigar smoking professional sports bettor. That still feels weird to type out, and I'm not sure how this is going to impact my social life when I tell people, but I guess we'll find out.
Sitting here on Saturday am, watching what I have identified as a Cooper's Hawk, perched about 40' up in a tree, just about 30 yards away from the house. His body feathers are all puffed out, I assume because it's below 30 degrees right now, and he's keeping warm. Unfortunately, I can't get a good photo from inside, and I don't want to go outside and possibly chase him away.
Just as I was typing the above paragraph, a gray squirrel tentatively approached the hawk on the same branch, and nudged at the hawk, causing him to flit a few feet out on the branch, but he didn't fly away. Fascinating.
ETA: Here's a shot from my phone, through binoculars.

Drove to Boone today. The trip usually takes about an hour. Had a going and coming back road delay of an hour each way. They are working on the bridge that spans the Watauga river and they were blasting. Did remind me of al the fun I had with C-4 years ago.
Aaaand after making the appointment the latch is now working after a week of having to rope the door shut.. Having a solenoid actuate it instead of using one'finger and thumb is a problematic advance in my opinion. Going to save myself $400+ and cancel the appointment unless it recurs.

You should reward yourself by buying cigars with the money you saved.

Our 2025 bicycling schedule is set:
May - Troegs Brewing - Hershey PA.
June - Dogfish Head Brewing - Milton, DE.
September - Cape May Brewing Co. - Cape May, NJ.
November - Billsburg Brewing - Williamsburg, VA.
Quick update, this morning, after getting congresspersons from 2 different states and one governor involved, the VA sent someone out to evaluate whether or not my son might need some home health help with activities of daily living following the surgery on his remaining intact arm.
Only took 10 days post-surgery.
It's a wonder.

Watched my cousin's kid win a state championship in wrestling and now I'm watching the Wings play in the stadium series in the Horseshoe. A team from Michigan has done well here recently so 🤞
Steve I never read anywhere you were a previous salesman?? You must’ve had a way with words to talk that lady into a marriage proposal 🤣. You guys look happy and relaxed. Carry on.

It'll be fine once the swelling goes down.

What? You're just going to abandon all those lonely truck drivers? Who will they turn to now?
And....
Good fond.

Feeling discombobulated.
Very interesting article. Congratulations. Keep enjoying the ride 🤙🏼.
A good cigar and whiskey solve most problems.
Panang curry is my favorite version of curry by far.

Door latch failed on my Volvo, got the door roped shut until I can get it repaired. I can only guess it will be an expensive fix.
