Pulling up garlic mustard when I have the energy, highly invasive., poisons the soil so even tree seeds won't germinate. Fortunately, it is edible which makes the time spent worth it.
Spring is finally here in the NC Mountains. I took a couple photos.
First is some of my "sang" coming up
some wild small Iris
Azaleas are starting to come out. We have a dozen or so that I dug out of the woods 35years ago.
I haven't been downtown in several years, but I managed to bump myself out of old-man hermit mode today, and took myself to an 11:15 concert by the MSO, which moved 4 years ago to a newly-renovated theater from the 1930s. Two hours before concert time, we seniors can get 50% off at the box office, which is probably why it felt like nobody was under 60 (plus, who else can go to a show at 11:15?)... a $120 box seat somehow turned into $75 with taxes/fees, and the $25 parking made it an even $100 for the outing. The Pines of Rome by Respighi was what got me to risk the adventure, but the whole ticket was great. They did a wonderful piece by a Cuban-born composer, along with some Rossini and Schubert.
As much as I enjoy listening to my hi-fi, there is simply nothing like a live orchestra. I think I should do this more often.
Sharing this to hopefully save my friends from making the same mistake.
When you are out shopping and your spouse picks up something and expresses they like it…do not, I repeat DO NOT!!!, say “Reminds me of your mom’s style.”

If you like irish cream, try Coole Swan. It's a little heavier on the irish whiskey.

Told my team it’s my last week. They were shocked and disappointed after all the cheering stopped.
You’re right, the cheering didn’t stop.
No..... that they were disappointed.....
I'm about 93% done with 50% of the north fence re-build.
A lot of that going on around here. Turns out it was three tornados that hit the area last week.

Nice. Did you have to run the wire one strand at a time? How are your hands?
Do goats eat cacti?
Yessir, one strand at a time. Hands are sore, forearms a bit scratched up. My goats don't, but the cattle do.
ETA: I miss my boys...empty nesting sŭcks!
Are they tuned to G?

Welp, that’ does it folks.

Our first 30-mile Bikes and Beers ride is tomorrow morning, 9am. No gin tonight, not one drop.
One drink is too much, two is not enough....
